Glass Pallet

01GlassPallet 02GlassPallet 03GlassPallet

A set of pallets in a standard dimensions, made in toughened glass panels and glass cubes. Using a traditional interior decoration technique called graining, the pallets are partially covered in hand painted wood grain pattern made up of multiple layers of oil based paint and varnishes. With its adaptable typology and almost ghostly ubiquity, pallets have been repurposed as beds, coffee tables, worktops etc. etc., which goes contrary to its original purpose; an essential component of global logistics that enables the existence of almost everything we consume on day to day basis. Seemingly mundane things such as these are often made to serve alternative functions beyond the imagination of its creator, not unlike how paints are used to represent more than what they actually are.
